Market Expansion Campaign

When I joined Mollie in the beginning of 2018, it was gearing up to expand its services throughout Europe in order to become the first tech-driven European payment service provider. With the EU's push towards a digital single market, there was a need for seamless payment systems that could facilitate cross-border transactions.

By launching several campaigns we helped to create brand awareness and adoption outside of the Netherlands, highlighting new features and closing new partnerships to establish a strong market position.


Over the span of six months I created campaign concepts, marketing pages and advertisements, while being the solo designer for the brand team. I collaborated with the Growth and Product team, while working closely with the Brand Manager and copywriter.

2018

Multi-currency

Our first milestone launch started with Multi-Currency which allowed merchants to accept payments in multiple currencies. This would enable merchants to expand their business globally and cater to customers from different countries without having to worry about currency conversion.


We aimed to simplify the payment process for both merchants and customers, and therefore provide a seamless payment experience. This enabled us to provide a comprehensive payment solution that met the evolving needs of businesses to expand their market outside of their borders.

To inform current and prospect clients about the possibilities of Multi-Currency, we developed a marketing page with highlights of the feature. In addition to this we set up an awareness campaign by leveraging multiple media channels.

Partnership Program

After a successful launch of Multi-Currency, we identified through market research that establishing a solid Partnership Program would strengthen our position in new territories. By partnering with agencies and technology providers, we could tap into the knowledge of different markets and industries.


The goal of the Partnership Program was to provide partners with access to our payment platform, APIs and tools, to help them integrate our payment solutions into their client’s systems.

As we saw that our previous roll-out strategy worked for Multi-Currency, we chose the same approach for Partnership, by setting up a marketing page with sign-up form and by launching another awareness campaign. Besides the campaign we also incorporated testimonial stories of current Mollie partners to create a more tangible and trustworthy feel for prospects.
